How did you put the AlternaJam together so quickly?
We scrambled to round up talented balloon artists that we like to work with, and collaborated with the BALLOONstitute to secure a great space. We knew we had to act quickly — before everyone canceled their Vegas plans.
How much is the AlternaJam?
The entire event is only $25, or free if you paid for Diamond Jam or Summer Balloon Camp or the Fashion Show.
What if I only paid a small deposit for Diamond Jam?
It’s still free.
Must I prove that I paid and registered for DJ/SBC?
Of course.  Just print out your confirmation email or anything equivalent.
How can you do this so cheaply?
Because we aren’t feeding you. Or decorating the room. Or paying the instructors. Or any of those great amenities that Dave Scott and other real convention organizers do to have classy events.
When is the AlternaJam?
Monday, August 9th from noon to 10pm.
Will there be contests?
Yes, we have some innovative and fun contests planned. They are designed for people of ALL balloon twisting levels.
Will there be things for sale?
Yep.  Vendors and teachers will have nifty things to buy.
Should decorators come to the AlternaJam?
YES! We welcome decorators, but please be ready for a culture shock. A balloon jam is more like a free-form art festival than a proper educational seminar. We are there to play, learn, experiment, and just immerse ourselves in the joy of creating with balloons. Decorators have an entirely different skill set that we love and learn from. Also, some of the sexiest balloon people we know are decorators, so come on in.
Is Jeff McBride really going to be there?
We had to call in some favors for that one, so yes, he is coming.
Who do I talk to if I want to stick around Las Vegas and for more balloon jamming?
Talk to Jack Mattson.  He is going to be jamming 24/7 all week and since you can’t beat him, you gotta join him.
Speaking of Jack, is he going to teach his Simpson’s® characters?
No.
Is Buster really Tawney’s pop?
Yes, and he’s more than a bit overprotective of her. So be discrete if you want to stalk her.
Will coming to the AlternaJam help me in my dating life?
It’s still a secret, but we will have a special presentation on “How To Pick Up Women With Balloons” by a successful dating guru:
